The Offspring to play virtual show in World of Tanks
Following Marshmello’s show in Fortnite and Korn’s appearance in something called AdventureQuest, the Offspring will become the latest band to play a concert inside a video game, announcing a virtual show in online multiplayer war game World of Tanks.
The game, which has more than 110 million players, is a tank battle simulator featuring more than 400 armoured vehicles from Britain, the US, the USSR, China, Germany and more. For some reason, the Offspring, best known for 1998 No1 ‘Pretty Fly (For a White Guy), will appear on an in-game “virtual stage” starting tomorrow (18 September).
“The game has never seen anything like this before, so we’re excited to be the first!” say the band in a tweet:
We're excited to announce that @worldoftanks has invited us to perform inside their game. Beginning Sept 18 you can join us on a virtual stage right in #WorldofTanks. The game has never seen anything like this before, so we're excited to be the first!#wot #WGFest19 pic.twitter.com/7oXkJ1EXoG

The World of Tanks performance follows the pop-punk group’s equally mystifying set at Wargaming Fest: Tanker Day in Minsk last weekend.
