Adele announces final Vegas residency dates

Adele has announced the final dates of her Las Vegas residency, rescheduling 10 shows cancelled due to illness.

The 100-date Weekends With Adele residency at Caesars Palace’s The Colosseum (4,100-capacity) will wrap up with ‘The Final Shows’ on October 25 and 26, and November 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16, 22 and 23.

In late February, the 16-time Grammy Award-winner announced the postponement of the March shows, citing ongoing illness.

“Sadly I have to take a break and pause my Vegas residency,” the singer said in a social media post. “I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately it’s taken a toll on my voice. And so on doctor’s orders, I have no choice but to rest thoroughly.”

Pre-existing ticket holders will be contacted with their newly allocated date.

“I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer”

The 35-year-old will resume her US residency after a 10-show stint in Germany, her first mainland Europe shows since her 2016/17 Adele Live tour. The WME-repped singer will perform throughout August at a purpose-built “bespoke stadium” in Munich.

“I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer and end this beautiful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer,” she said.

Based at convention centre Munich Messe, the 80,000-cap open-air stadium will feature a combination of grandstand seating and standing areas. The Live Nation-promoted dates were met with phenomenal demand, with more than 2.2 million registering to purchase tickets.

But the exclusive European shows, which increased from four to 10 dates, have yet to sell out.

Adele’s Las Vegas residency resumes on 17 May.

Adele pauses Las Vegas residency due to illness

Adele has been forced to postpone a series of Las Vegas concerts due to illness.

The 35-year-old’s 100-night Weekends with Adele residency at The Colosseum (cap. 4,100) at Caesars Palace which launched in November 2022, is due to wrap up in June this year.

“Sadly I have to take a beat and pause my Vegas residency,” says Adele in a social media post. “I was sick at the end of the last leg and all the way through my break. I hadn’t quite gotten the chance to get back to full health before shows resumed and now I’m sick again, and unfortunately it’s all taken a toll on my voice. And so on doctor’s orders I have no chance but to rest thoroughly.

“The remaining five weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date”

“The remaining five weekends of this leg are being postponed to a later date. We are already working out the details and you will be sent the information asap.”

Aside from the Vegas run, WME-represented Adele has played only limited live dates in support of her most recent album, 2021’s 30 – performing two nights at the 65,000-cap BST Hyde Park in London, UK in July 2022.

The British singer will also perform ten nights at an 80,000-cap pop-up stadium at Munich Messe exhibition centre in Germany from 2-3, 9-10, 14, 16, 23-24 and 30-31 August this year.

More than 2.2 million people registered to buy tickets for the run. The exclusive European performances, promoted by Live Nation, will mark the first time Adele has performed in mainland Europe since 2016.

Adele plans 80k-cap residency in ‘bespoke stadium’

Adele has announced a series of 80,000-capacity outdoor shows in Munich, Germany, this summer.

The four concerts (2–3 and 9–10 August) will take place in a “bespoke stadium” with a combination of grandstand seating and standing areas, based at convention centre Munich Messe.

These exclusive European dates, promoted by Live Nation, mark the first time Adele has performed in mainland Europe since 2016.

“So a few months ago I got a call about a summer run of shows,” Adele wrote in a statement shared on social media. “I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans.

“However, I was too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea, a one-off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on? Ohh!? Pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich? That’s a bit random, but still fabulous!”

“I couldn’t think of a more wonderful way to spend my summer”

The singer’s 100-night Weekends with Adele run at The Colosseum (cap. 4,100) at Caesars Palace is due to wrap up in June this year. The first 24 dates grossed US$52.8 million (€48.8m).

The Live Nation-promoted residency, which was postponed just 24 hours before opening night in January 2022, ultimately kicked off that November before being extended in spring 2023.

Due to the limited number of tickets available, if demand for tickets from Verified Fans exceeds supply, there will not be a public onsale.

“I’m truly sorry for any inconvenience and any disappointment that I’ve caused, but we’re here tonight and together”

Other acts with current or upcoming residencies at The Colusseum include Rod Stewart, Garth Brooks and Sting.

Adele, who is represented by Lucy Dickins and Kirk Sommer at WME, returned to the stage over the summer for two sold-out nights at AEG’s BST Hyde Park concert series in London.

“Half my team have Covid and it’s been impossible to finish the show,” she told fans on Thursday night (20 January) via Instagram, adding that “delivery delays” had also impacted her plans.

Tickets ranged from US$85 (£60) to $685 (£500), and Adele was forecast to make more than £500,000 per performance

Tickets ranged from US$85 to $685, and Adele was forecast to make more than £500,000 per performance.

The Vegas residency would have been her first live concerts in five years. Along with two dates in London’s Hyde Park this summer, they are the only shows she has announced to promote her fourth album, 30.

Speaking on Instagram, Adele said she had been “awake for 30 hours” trying to rescue the production, but had simply “run out of time”.

“It’s been impossible to finish the show,” she added. “I can’t give you what I have right now and I’m gutted.”

“I’m sorry, it’s last minute. I’m so upset and I’m really embarrassed and I’m so sorry to everyone that’s travelled again.”

Adele said she and her team are currently working on rescheduling the residency dates and that they’re “gonna finish my show and get it to where it’s supposed to be. We’ve been up against so much and it just ain’t ready. I’m really sorry”.

Adele announces 2022 Las Vegas residency

Adele has announced her first-ever Las Vegas residency, slated to begin in January 2022.

The star, who is represented by Lucy Dickins and Kirk Sommer at WME, will perform on Friday and Saturday nights in the Colosseum theatre (cap. 4,300) at Caesars Palace Hotel from 21 January until 16 April 2022.

The concerts, dubbed Weekends With Adele, are promoted by Live Nation Las Vegas, which recently promoted Amanda Moore to lead the residency business.

Fans will have to register for pre-sale access before 3 December to be in with a chance of securing tickets for the residency. Tickets will then be available to purchase from 7 December.

The residency will see Adele follow in the footsteps of Celine Dion, Elton John, Madonna, Mariah Carey and Rod Stewart who have all performed in the famous Colosseum theatre.

Dion and John have each completed two residencies there, with Dion performing more than 1,000 times at the venue.

Usher is the current “resident” at The Colosseum and will wrap up his stint at the beginning of January.

Other notable Las Vegas residencies include Britney Spears at the Axis at Planet Hollywood (2013–2017) and Lady Gaga’s Enigma Show at Park MGM (2018–2020).

Adele’s residency announcement follows the release of her fourth studio album 30 and news of her headliner slot at “the biggest-ever” BST Hyde Park festival in London next year.
