Simon Lewis, formerly president of Live Nation in Europe, is to head up a newly created sponsorship division at CTS Eventim.
Under Lewis, who left Live Nation after 12 years in December 2014, Eventim’s new sponsorship and marketing partnerships division will “build partnerships around CTS Eventim’s substantial network of major European festivals, concerts, venues and traffic-rich ticketing websites and related digital assets”.
Bremen-headquartered CTS Eventim is Europe’s leading ticketing company, and also operates venues and promotes shows and festivals across the continent, including Rock am Ring, Rock im Park and, through FKP Scorpio, Hurricane and Southside. In October it launched a joint venture with formerly SFX Entertainment-owned electronic dance music (EDM) promoter Alda Events.
“I will greatly enjoy the motivation of representing Eventim as we build on the marketing partnerships sector in Europe’s key territories”
The new division will, says CTS Eventim director of new business Frithjof Pils, “put particular emphasis on a data-driven approach, and has the unique ability to combine both ticketing and promoting to develop products according to our current and future partners’ needs.”
“Eventim’s substantial estate of European businesses is profoundly impressive, and is set for further growth in key areas of the live entertainment market,” comments Lewis. “I will greatly enjoy the motivation of representing Eventim as we build on the marketing partnerships sector in Europe’s key territories.”
CTS Eventim has yet to release its financial results for 2016, but grew turnover from ticketing 11.6% in quarters one to three.
