AEG Ogden to manage BCEC for further five years
The government of Queensland has reappointed AEG Ogden, AEG’s Asia-Pacific venue-management operation, as the operator of the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre (BCEC) in eastern Australia.
AEG Odgen will extend its management of the publicly owned venue by a five-year term, with an option for a further five years, on 1 July 2017.
In addition conventions and exhibitions, the 8,000-capacity BCEC (pictured) regularly hosts sporting events and concerts (upcoming shows include Puscifer, an experimental collective led by Tool’s Maynard James Keenan, and Australian harmony-pop group Human Nature).
AEG Ogden also operates the nearby Brisbane Entertainment Centre (14,500-cap.) arena.
“The reappointment of AEG Ogden as managers heralds an exciting new era for the centre,” says AEG Ogden chairman and CEO Harvey Lister, “shaping a future BCEC and building on 21 years of experience, excellence and culture of innovation with a strategic plan for growth to enhance our industry leadership.”
Ogden was recently appointed manager of the 20,000-capacity Dubai Arena, set to open in 2018.
