Eventbrite acquires DC’s Nvite

Eventbrite has acquired Nvite, a self-service ticketing start-up based in Washington, DC.

It is the second buy-out of a rival platform this year, after January’s acquisition of European leader Ticketscript, although on a much smaller scale, and February’s addition of event-management service Queue.

Nvite’s last funding round, in 2014, raised US$1 million, from Crystal Tech Fund and a group of DC-based investors.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

“We’re inspired by Nvite’s design prowess and the opportunity to bring a more customisable and branded experience to our customers”

“We’re excited to welcome Nvite to the family to join us in our pursuit to of helping millions of Eventbrite customers better market themselves and their events,” an Eventbrite spokeswoman tells Fortune. “They’ve been a valuable partner for some time through our open API and we’re excited to be taking this relationship to the next level.

“We’re inspired by their design prowess and the opportunity to bring a more customisable and branded experience to our customers.”
