PRS for Music hires new COO
Nigel Hall, formerly managing director of auditor KPMG UK, has joined PRS for Music as chief operating officer.
He replaces Craig Nunn, who departed the British performance rights organisation (PRO) in 2017 after six years at the company.
Prior to joining KMPG, Hall (pictured) led the launch of Orange (French Telecom) internationally and ran his own start-up consultancy, Interim Consulting.
PRS says his “background in digital growth is well placed to assist PRS in its own technological evolution” as it handles “vast increases in data each year”.
“We look forward to having Nigel’s digital expertise on hand to steer us through a time of continuing growth and transformation”
Robert Ashcroft, chief executive of PRS for Music, says: “PRS for Music celebrated a record-breaking year in 2016, in no small part thanks to our investments in technology and data, which are becoming ever more integral to the music business.
“It is therefore my pleasure to welcome Nigel to PRS for Music. We look forward to having his digital expertise on hand to steer us through a time of continuing growth and transformation, not just for us, but for the industry as a whole.”
“Having worked with household names like Orange and O2 in the telecoms sector, I am delighted to be joining an organisation that champions the rights of some of the biggest names in music,” adds Hall. “These are incredibly exciting times for the industry, not least for our members, and I am looking forward to helping PRS for Music continue to lead in its field.”
