Ticketmaster names ‘diverse’ New For 2020 list

Ticketmaster has announced the ten artists and bands it expects to take the live scene by storm in 2020.

Artists featuring on the ticketing giant’s New For 2020 list are soul singer Celeste; London-born pop star Bree Runway; Manchester rapper Aitch; guitarist Scarypoolparty; ‘War Paint’ singer Fletcher; poet/singer Arlo Parks; Northern Irish artist JC Stewart; Dublin rock group Inhaler; Filipino-British indie artist Beabadoobee; and Scottish foursome the Snuts.

The list, compiled by Ticketmaster’s artist services team, draws on the success of acts at grassroots venues over the past 12 months.

Last year’s list featured rapper Slowthai and singer-songwriter Freya Ridings. Lewis Capaldi, Sigrid, Tom Walker and Pale Waves are among artists to feature on previous iterations of the New for list.

“Our list is more than just soulful ballads and unpredictable rap – it’s a diverse celebration of artists who’ve been here all along but are only now getting to be heard”

“A new year calls for new discoveries and 2020 is no different,” comments Ticketmaster UK managing director Andrew Parsons. “Our list is more than just soulful ballads and unpredictable rap – it’s a diverse celebration of artists who’ve been here all along but are only now getting to be heard.

“We want to continue to be the place where fans come to discover the hottest acts making noise across the industry, and we will always support artists at whatever stage of their career they’re at.”

The Snuts, who this year played the main stage at Glasgow’s Trnsmt festival, say they are “grateful” to be named on the New For 2020 list, adding that “it’s going to be a big one.”

“I’m so happy to have been selected in Ticketmaster’s New For 2020,” comments Arlo Parks (pictured). “On stage is where I feel most alive – I love that feeling of intimacy and genuine connection with everyone in the room. I’m really looking forward to touring and playing in loads of new places in 2020.”
