Katie Vinten launches Black Diamond Management
Management veteran Katie Vinten, who has steered the career of some of the biggest songwriters in pop, has formed Black Diamond Artist Management, with an initial roster that includes Justin Tranter (Justin Bieber, Imagine Dragons, Bebe Rexha, Selena Gomez), Zach Skelton (Jonas Brothers, Lil Nas X), Boy Matthews (Gallant, Hayden James) and The Voice’s Caroline Pennell.
The launch of Black Diamond – which initially serves only writers and producers, though Vinten notes she is “on the look-out for that special recording artist client – comes nearly ten months after she formed Facet Records, an imprint of Warner Bros, and Facet Publishing, both alongside Tranter.
“I’ve always loved black diamonds,” comments Vinten. “One of the first times I went skiing, I decided to forego the intermediate trail and try the black diamond after some quiet, teasing nudging from my biggest fan – my now-husband – Aaron Vinten. I went flying off my skis, but I got back up. I’ll never forget the experience. I made it.
“As manager, exec and publisher, I’m serving clients by showing them their greatest potential”
“I try to recapture that feeling as much as possible in my life. I realised you can do so much more than you think you can – you just have to try.
“As a manager, record executive and publisher, I’m serving clients by showing them their greatest potential.”
Facet Publishing – like Vinten and Black Diamond based in Los Angeles – represents songwriters including Kennedi Lykken (Ariana Grande, Dua Lipa, Chainsmokers, Jonas Brothers), Jason Gil (Katy Perry), Brandon Colbein (Zayn, Hayley Kiyoko) and the Roommates (Aaron Carpenter).
