DHP Family expands London promotion team
British promoter/venue operator DHP Family has bolstered its team in London with the appointment of a new national concert promoter.
Josh Ward, who has already spent a year with Nottingham-based DHP as promotions coordinator, will be responsible for booking and promoting shows across the UK, including at the company’s growing portfolio of venues in London in Nottingham.
Ward also runs his own promotions business, Girls & Boys, which began as a club night at London venue Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen.
“With his ears and knack for discovering great new music, it became abundantly clear to all of us that Josh’s future lay in being a national concert promoter,” says Dan Ealam, who was appointed director of the company’s DHP Live division last April.
“It’s a great time for the company, and I see being the new promoter in the team as a really exciting opportunity”
“Off his own back we have seen him sell out shows at Oslo, Omeara, Moth Club and Bermondsey Social Club and already taking acts through to Koko, so we’re really excited to see where the future takes him with the power of DHP Family behind him.”
Prior to joining DHP, Ward spent stints at Ignition Records, where he worked on the Definitely Maybe re-release campaign, and JCF Management, working with The Prodigy.
He comments: “Discovering new artists and seeing them develop into great live acts has always been a real passion of mine, and after promoting shows independently for the past few years, I’m really excited about joining the team at DHP Family as a national promoter. It’s a great time for the company and I see being the new promoter in the team as a really exciting opportunity.’’
Ward reports to Ealam and DHP Family’s head of concerts, Bob Bark. He can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org.
