Islington Assembly Hall is UK’s first mobile ticket-only venue

North London music venue Islington Assembly has become the first in the UK to scrap paper tickets, opting for a “tout-proof” mobile ticketing solution from Dice.

In a statement, the 890-capacity venue says the appointment of Dice as its ticketing partner will mean “no more rip-offs” and “no more hassle”, adding: “And with paper-free tickets and no need for email print-outs, we’re helping saving the planet, too! What’s not to love?!”

Dice has carved out a niche in the competitive UK ticket market since its launch in 2014 by doing away with booking fees and tying tickets to mobile device from which they were bought, making unauthorised resale impossible.

“In a world where you can travel internationally using just your phone, we believe this is not a step into the future but simply the present,” says Dice head of music Russ Tannen of the new deal. “When venues ditch tout-friendly paper tickets and embrace mobile, literally everyone wins except for the touts.

“Islington Assembly Hall is the ideal venue partner; it’s an iconic London venue with a forward thinking team behind it.”

Islington Assembly Hall’s venue business manager, Lucinda Brown, adds: “From artists like Jake Isaac to Rae Morris and Moses Sumney, Islington Assembly Hall’s gig listing is on point – and with Dice, tickets can be purchased, returned and transferred with a few taps of your smartphone.”

London-based Dice earlier this month announced it was introducing ‘hangover days’ for worse-for-wear staff, and in May debuted an industry first no-questions-asked refunds policy for customers no longer able to attend shows.
