Four stabbed in brawl at London garage festival

Four men have been injured in a fight in the VIP area of a garage music festival in London.

Paramedics were called to Garage Nation Festival, held in Hainault Forest in north-east London, on Saturday evening, where they treated four people for non-life-threatening “stab and slash injuries”, say police.

Three men, one aged 22 (dubbed ‘Victim 1’ by police), one aged 26 (Victim 2) and a third adult male (Victim 3) were taken to an east London. Victim 3 has since left hospital, and a fourth, Victim 4, was treated at the scene but left prior to police arrival, according to the Metropolitan police.

A video posted by Twitter account London 999 Feed appears to show footage of the incident:

Following the incident, a group of male suspects were seen to run out of the VIP area towards the main entrance, police add.

Detective constable Samantha Handley, of the Metropolitan police’s east area command unit CID, says: “We are working with the festival organisers to identify those involved in this incident. I would urge anyone who was at the event, specifically in and around the VIP area at 7.30pm, and who saw this incident or the events either side of this incident, to contact police.

“I would also appeal directly to the fourth person who was treated by medics but left prior to police arrival to contact officers – he may have information that could prove vital to progressing this investigation.”

Garage Nation 2018, organised by UK company Festivus Group, was headlined by Artful Dodger and Heartless Crew.

It is unclear how patrons were able to get knives into the event. IQ has contacted Festivus, which has not yet responded to the incident, for comment.
