Banks, Bowdery still UK live’s most influential
Live Nation’s president of international touring, Phil Bowdery, and CAA agent Emma Banks have once again made the Debrett’s 500.
Bowdery and Banks appeared on last year’s list of Debrett’s’ 500 most influential Britons, alongside SJM Concerts managing director Simon Moran, who this year failed to make the cut.
They are joined in 2017’s music category by another new entry: Sarah Stennett, the co-founder and First Access Entertainment, whose artists include Zayn Malik, Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora.
Other music-industry figures include iTunes’s Oliver Schusser – a key player in the long-running Apple Music Festival at the Roundhouse – Columbia Records boss Ferdy Unger-Hamilton, Universal’s Sir Lucian Grange CBE and David Joseph CBE, Mobos founder Kanya King MBE, Mercury Music Prize winner Skepta and Spotify’s head of content programming, George Ergatoudis.
Music is one of 24 Debrett’s 500 categories, alongisde politics, journalism, digital and social, business and industry, broadcasting, finance, retail, ‘war and peace’ and ‘the influencers’.
Vloggers Zoella, Tanya Burr and PewdiePie, meanwhile, were recognised in the social and digital category. IQ reported last year that several major agents and promoters are seeking to harness the online reach of YouTubers and vloggers as a potentially lucrative new revenue stream.
