Pearl Jam has cancelled more European tour dates due to continuing illness within the band.
The American rock band had already cancelled last weekend’s show at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, the day before it was due to take place.
They have now also cancelled two dates at Waldbühne (cap. 22,290) in Berlin on 2 and 3 July.
“Despite everyone’s best efforts, the band has yet to make a full recovery,” the band said in a statement shared on social media.
“The impacts of this decision are not lost on us,” they said. “We feel deeply that so many people spend their time, money and emotional energy to get tickets and then to come see the band, and it is heart-wrenching to have to disappoint you.
“We also appreciate the many people whose hard work goes into making these shows happen. Please trust we never take these decisions lightly and try to do everything possible to show up for you all.

“We wish a reschedule had been possible for this tour leg and hope to come back soon. Tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase. Thank you for your continued understanding and support. It means the world.”
The band’s next live show is currently scheduled for 6 July in Barcelona. After their remaining dates in Germany and Spain, Pearl Jam then take a short break before launching the US leg of their tour on 26 August.
The American rock band is not alone in being forced to cancel shows of late. Neil Young & Crazy Horse have also cancelled seven Canadian shows and eight US dates, including their set at Eddie Vedder’s Ohana Fest. The same illness has caused prior cancellations of shows in Chicago, Austin, and Dallas in May.
“The Love Earth Tour has been a great experience for us so far,” reads a new statement on Young’s website. “When a couple of us got sick after Detroit’s Pine Knob, we had to stop. We are still not fully recovered, so sadly our great tour will have a big unplanned break… We know many of you made travel plans and we apologize for the inconvenience. Thanks for your understanding and patience.”

Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi has said he will take a break from touring for the “foreseeable future”.
The announcement comes days after he struggled to finish his Glastonbury set due to his Tourette’s Syndrome.
Glastonbury was the 26-year-old’s first live performance since taking a previous three-week break.
“First of all, thank you to Glastonbury for having me, for singing along when I needed it and for all the amazing messages afterwards. It really does mean the world,” he began. “The fact that this probably won’t come as a surprise doesn’t make it any easier to write, but I’m very sorry to let you know I’m going to be taking a break from touring for the foreseeable future.”
He explained that he felt ready to return to the stage after cancelling dates scheduled for earlier this month but Saturday’s performance made it “obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order”.
“It became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order”
“I used to be able to enjoy every second of shows like this and I’d hoped 3 weeks away would sort me out,” he said.
“But the truth is I’m still learning to adjust to the impact of my Tourette’s and on Saturday it became obvious that I need to spend much more time getting my mental and physical health in order, so I can keep doing everything I love for a long time to come.
“I know I’m incredibly fortunate to be able to take some time out when others can’t and I’d like to thank my amazing family, friends, team, medical professionals and all of you who’ve been so supportive every step of the way through the good times and even more so during this past year when I’ve needed it more than ever.”
Capaldi, who is repped by agents Ryan Penty and Alex Hardee at Wasserman Music, was due to play 26 dates around the world between now and October including Reading and Leeds festivals.
“We’re gutted that Lewis Capaldi won’t be performing at R&L this year, but health comes first and we wish him a speedy recovery,” an update from Reading and Leeds read. “We’re working hard to book a replacement, stay tuned.”

Janet Jackson has once again postponed her ill-fated Live Nation-backed Unbreakable world tour – this time to have a baby.
In a video message, the 49-year-old singer revealed that she and her husband, Qatari entrepreneur Wissam Al Mana, are “planning our family”. “I’m gonna have to delay the tour,” she explained, “[so] please, if you can, try and understand that it’s important that I do this now. I have to rest up –doctor’s orders.”
The Unbreakable tour, which began in Vancouver last August, was due to relaunch on 14 May in Last Vegas after a spring European leg of the tour was cancelled last month without explanation (although it was speculated that poor ticket sales were to blame) less than two weeks before Jackson was due to appear in Birmingham. In October she cancelled a show in Las Vegas to rest her vocal chords – doctor’s orders again – and in December postponed a string of US dates to undergo unspecified emergency surgery.
In the video Jackson also thanks Live Nation and promises fans: “I have not forgotten about you. I will continue to tour as soon as I possibly can.”
