Promoters unite for Colombia’s La Eterna festival

Promoters Cárdenas Marketing Network (CMN) and Breakfast Club are partnering with booking and management agency La Industria Inc to launch new one-day Colombian festival La Eterna.

The Latin music event will debut at Atanasio Girardot Stadium in Medellín on 3 August as part of the traditional Flower Fair. General sale tickets start at COP135,000 (€33).

“La Eterna is a festival-type experience never before seen within the framework of the Flower Fair,” says Henry Cárdenas, CEO of CMN. “We will have capacity for more than 42,000 people at the Atanasio Girardot Stadium with two alternate areas of the stadium with differential experiences, two stages – one of them on a 360º platform – and infinite experiences that will allow us to have an eternal party in the city.”

Artists will include Marc Anthony, Ana Gabriel, Nicky Jam, Xavi, Fonseca, Elder Dayán Díaz, Proyecto Uno and Nath, reports Revista DC.

“The Flower Festival was born to proudly celebrate our Antioqueñidad, our music and our culture,” says Breakfast Club CEO Carlos Franco. “Medellín is an abundant land, of vibrant people who have no restraints when it comes to enjoying themselves. Without a doubt, it is the eternal capital of music. That is why we will present rhythms from reggaetón, salsa, rancheras, merengue and much more.”

“Medellín is the home of the great urban artists, the square of the great concerts and festivals”

Founded by music entrepreneur Cárdenas in 2001, Chicago-based CMN promotes global tours by artists such as Marc Anthony, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Daddy Yankee, Don Omar, Chayanne, Ana Gabriel and Nicky Jam. Most recently, it launched the largest global Latin music tour with Luis Miguel.

Breakfast Club was launched in 2013 and currently holds 15 to 20 events per year including electronic music festival La Solar, which was held at Parque Norte Medellín in February.

Both companies announced major moves back in March, with US-based CMN forming a strategic alliance with AEG Presents to create “the world leader in live Latin music”, and Colombia’s Breakfast Club and TBL Live joining forces to create new entertainment company Breakfast Live.

Medellín-based La Industria Inc, meanwhile, has helped launch the careers of acts such as Nicky Jam, Manuel Turizo and Chocquibtown.

“Medellín is the home of the great urban artists, the square of the great concerts and festivals,” adds La Industria Inc CEO Juan Diego Medina. “That is why we will celebrate with Eterna, a party for everyone.”

Colombian promoters unite to form Breakfast Live

Colombian promoters Breakfast Club and TBL Live have joined forces to create new entertainment company Breakfast Live.

The combined firm plans to stage around 60 events in 2024, including reggae event Entono Soundsystem at Bogotá’s Movistar Arena, featuring The Wailers ft. Julian Marley and Inner Circle on 11 May, and the disco-oriented Boogie Nights W on 15 May, starring Kool and The Gang and The Village People.

Additionally, the inaugural Tomorrowland presents Core Medellín will premiere from 11-12 May.

“At TBL Live, we are fans of the fans, and this union of forces and talents will open a new chapter in the entertainment industry,” says Andrea Valencia, CEO of TBL. “Two Colombian companies synergise to create opportunities for the audiences, bringing them closer to their favourite artists.

“Starting today, we are Breakfast Live, and we are here to host the best stories, moving emotions through music and culture.”

“From now on, we cease to be simply a club, and we become a platform for tireless creators, eternal visionaries, and dream makers”

Breakfast Live will organise live music shows, tours, cultural and family events, and will continue to expand Breakfast Club’s festival portfolio, which includes brands such as La Solar, Ritvales and La Verbena.

“Today, our paths cross to reach new horizons,” adds Carlos Franco, CEO of Breakfast Club. “From now on, we cease to be simply a club, and we become a platform for tireless creators, eternal visionaries, and dream makers that we will bring to reality with the same love with which they were imagined.”

Both Breakfast Club, which was founded in 2013, and TBL Live, launched in 2018 by CLK, will continue to operate other business verticals independently from event promotion.

Breakfast Club currently holds 15 to 20 events per year, with capacities ranging from 5,000 to 40,000, while TBL Live has worked with acts such as Disclosure, Martin Garrix, Morat, Juan Luis Guerra, Juanes, Maluma and Kygo, and has also staged concerts in Spain, Chile, and Ecuador.

Tomorrowland partners on new Colombian festival

Tomorrowland is launching a new 10,000-capacity festival in the Colombian city of Medellín, with the help of local promoter Breakfast Club.

The EDM giant will transport its newly created CORE stage to Medellín’s botanical garden for the two-day event on 11 and 12 May.

Built over the course of a year, the fully transportable stage is 17 meters high and 30 meters wide and incorporates strobes, fog machines and fireworks fountains among other features.

At Tomorrowland presents Core Medellín, the structure will house performances from “the leading names” in house and techno.

The new festival is supported by Breakfast Club, the decade-old promoter behind Medellín festivals Ritvales and La Solar Festival.

The CORE stage debuted last weekend at Tomorrowland’s event in Tulum, Mexico, and is slated to ‘pop up around the globe’ including at Tomorrowland Belgium.

The 70,000-capacity flagship will return to Boom, in the province of Antwerp, between 19–21 and 26–28 July.

In addition to Belgium and Colombia, Tomorrowland has also been exported to France and Brazil.
