Nederlander becomes excl. Bonney Field promoter

Nederlander Concerts has signed an exclusive agreement to promote, produce and programme events at Bonney Field in Sacramento, California.

The 12,000-seat stadium, home to Sacramento Republic FC, is California’s second largest outdoor football venue, and last year hosted shows by Weezer, Lindsey Stirling and Panic! at the Disco. Alongside partner Spectra – a division of sports and entertainment management group Comcast Spectator – the independent promoter/venue operator says it aims to “increase the quantity and quality of publicly ticketed events” at Bonney Field.

“We have enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Spectra, as the company also provides corporate partnership support at some of our California properties, and we look forward to working with their stellar team in Sacramento to enhance programming at Bonney Field with marquee artists,” says Nederlander Concerts CEO Alex Hodges. “Spectra has an outstanding reputation throughout the industry and we’re confident that we can bring new and exciting opportunities to Bonney Field.

“Adding Bonney Field to our roster of core venues aligns our goals of growing Nederlander’s brand and expanding our footprint in northern California.”

“Bonney Field is a beautiful outdoor venue that recaptures the essence of seeing shows at the old Cal Expo Amphitheatre,” adds Spectra’s Eric Blockie, general manager of the venue. “We are looking forward to this new partnership, which will enhance our line-up and bring new and exciting opportunities to the region.”

Nederlander Concerts is a division of the Nederlander Organization, which lost its 94-year-old chairman, Jimmy Nederlander, last July.
