Former AEG exec Joe Litvag joins Blackbird Presents

Events and entertainment company Blackbird Presents has announced the appointment of longtime AEG Presents executive Joe Litvag as partner and president of live entertainment.

In the newly created position, Litvag will oversee Blackbird’s portfolio of live entertainment projects, develop new ventures and help with the expansion and diversification of major concerts, festivals and tours.

Litvag will work closely with Blackbird Presents chief executive Keith Wortman at the company’s New York headquarters.

“Joe’s deep experience in creating, building and executing a range of business plans and projects in the live music industry is extraordinary,” says Wortman.

“The respect and admiration he has across our industry makes him the ideal person to lead Blackbird Presents in our next phase of growth.”

Litvag joins Blackbird Presents after 15 years at AEG Presents, most recently as a senior vice president. He previously worked at Contemporary Productions/SFX Entertainment/Clear Channel Entertainment, where he held the position of vice president of concerts.

“Joe’s deep experience in creating, building and executing a range of business plans and projects in the live music industry is extraordinary”

“After meeting Keith and the team at Blackbird Presents, I knew I’d found the right place to start the next chapter in my career,” says Litvag.

“Their business is built on their exceptional personal relationships with artists, managers and agents, and it’s refreshing to see such a wonderfully simple yet unique approach to its rapidly expanding portfolio.”

Blackbird, says Litvag, “focuses on iconic artists, puts their music and legacy front-and-centre, and celebrates them in a first-class way.”

Blackbird Presents is currently producing the fourth annual Outlaw Music Festival Tour in partnership with Willie Nelson, which will include performances from Phil Lesh and Friends, the Avett Brothers, Robert Plant and Bonnie Raitt, as well as from Nelson himself.

The event producer regularly stages celebration concerts for famous acts. Blackbird recently produced a show honouring Kenny Rogers and Merle Haggard with performances from Dolly Parton, Keith Richards, Lioniel Richie, Chris Stapleton and more.
