Guns N’ Roses pull out of Coachella (April Fools’)

Update (12.00): April Fools’!

Guns N’ Roses have withdrawn from their headline slot at this year’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in a dispute over pay.

Some form of the ‘classic’ line-up of the LA heavy metal legends – one that includes lead singer Axl Rose and original guitarist Slash – was to have reunited for the Goldenvoice festival in Indio, California, next month.

However, Rose claims Goldenvoice told him that the fee the band were offered was per weekend – ie they would be paid twice, once for the first festival weekend on 15–17 April and once for 22–24 April – while the AEG Live-owned promoter insists it was always made clear to Rose and the band that the fee was for both events.

This story is an April Fool’s joke and should not be taken seriously under any circumstances. IQ will be at Coachella in April and look forward to seeing Axl and GNR perform.
