One of the most populous nations in the world, Indonesia is also southeast Asia’s largest economy.

And while the country has a long history of censoring music on the grounds some lyrics are “immoral,” (in 2021, 42 songs by the likes of Bruno Mars and Ariana Grande were not allowed to be played on public radio before 10pm), it doesn’t seem to deter artists from making stops here.

Having seen performances by Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, and Sharukh Khan, Sentul International Convention Center (11,000) just south of the capital Jakarta is the most common stop for international artists.

With acoustics designed for music events, the venue has a main hall, an exhibition hall, meeting room, function hall, VIP and VVIP access, plus ample parking.

It’s set among green space with a mountainous backdrop, in an arena renowned for its eco-credentials. Westlife performed there in September 2022.
