The Tour Accountant will be well organized and comfortable dealing with large volumes of financial data. This individual will be responsible for recording accounts payable transactions, processing and reconciling expense reports, and conducting other tasks related to accounts payable. They should be excellent at recording data and be detail oriented.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements in adherence to business management related policies and procedures, including posting journal entries, GL account reconciliations, budgeting & forecasting, etc.
  • Assist with client risk assessment, financial planning, and tour budgeting.
  • Review all client agreements and contracts to record accurate commissions, calculations, and payments.
  • Prepare and present financial analysis, long term cash flow analysis, and P&L reporting solutions.
  • Work directly with the Tour Accounting Manager in new client onboarding procedures.
  • Assist Tax Department in providing necessary data and paperwork for all tax processes.
  • Review work and accuracy of Tour Staff Accountants (bill pay, revenue tracking, client specific accounting, payroll, etc.).
  • Possess strong financial management and analytical skills with a thorough understanding of accounting principles.
  • Must be detail-oriented, as the role requires managing large volumes of financial data and transactions.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, and adaptability are critical, given the dynamic and often fast-paced environment of a tour.

 

PREREQUISITE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Bill.com, & Chrome River strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently without frequent direct supervision.
  • Experience with retail sales, point of sale systems, and bar operations.
  • Must be able to work remotely.
  • Must be able to travel internationally.
  • Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and organized.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines in a timely and effective manner.
  • Must be able to prioritize, multi-task, and work under stressful situations.

 

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to function in high-pressure situations.
  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer.
  • Correctable vision and hearing.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Clear, easy to understand oral communication ability.
  • Ability to sit for long periods.
  • Capability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Skilled in the use of computer and office equipment.
  • Proficient in activities requiring manual dexterity of both hands.
  • Primarily a remote position.
