IQ Magazine

IQ Magazine is the leading business title for the live music business globally. Our events and publications sit at the heart of the touring and festival businesses, and are experienced or read by thousands of professionals every year.

Due to the number of publications expanding along with our readership, we are looking for a freelance artworker or designer who can step in during busy periods, and work alongside our head of design to ensure a continued high quality of design and hit deadlines.

 

About the Role

The role stretches across both print and digital, as well as including some of our events in the build up to them taking place. You will work closely with our Head of Design, as well as IQ’s editor, IQ’s reports editor and our sub editor.

The freelance work will be delivering high quality design using wireframe templates and existing design schemes, or creating new designs from a brief, and whilst coordinating and managing tasks to ensure publishing deadlines are met.

 

About You

You must be used to working in a fast paced team as well as being self-motivated, articulate and able to manage multiple projects/requests independently. You will ideally have experience or passion for music, and will be able to think laterally and creatively to come up with great design solutions quickly.

Key Skills:

  • You must be fluent in InDesign and Photoshop
  • You will need a thorough understanding of editorial design, including working to grids
  • Excellent layout skills and great typography knowledge

This is a freelance position, and so the ideal candidate will be able to step in during key periods of the year and at short notice.
