We are looking for an experienced professional to join the Fiery Group as a full time Management Accountant with production accounts experience.

The Fiery group is responsible for presenting live performance ranging from multi award winning theatre with Kenneth Branagh to world-class preschool entertainment with Peppa Pig.

Job Description
The Management Accountant ensures accurate, efficient and compliant record-keeping, enables timely reporting to internal and external stakeholders, and upholds appropriate financial controls. Overseeing the entire accounts function across key lead production companies and SPVs.

Working closely with all areas of the business including the producers and general managers the Management accountant will be responsible for preparing the monthly management accounts for the group companies. Alongside preparing the weekly production accounts for all west end and touring productions.

This role has some specific areas of ownership, including leading on the accurate recording and reporting of income, payroll, managing the month end and monitoring cash-flow. There is one part time accounts assistant who will process the purchase ledger, petty cash and expenses as well as process payroll if required.

There are currently 5 lead companies and more than a dozen SPV not all of which are active all year.

 

Responsibilities – lead companies

  • Preparation of Monthly management accounts including accrual and pre payments
  • Bank reconciliations and required journals
  • VAT returns
  • Payroll & pension administration where required
  • Sales invoicing
  • Intercompany recharges
  • Year-end accounts preparation for submission to external accountants
  • Budgets and forecasting where required.
  • Profit distributions
  • Royalty distributions for licence holders
  • other ad hoc requirements


Job Responsibilities – SPV’s

  • Weekly and/or production period accounting.
  • Posting of theatre settlements understanding the principles behind contra accounting of costs against box office income.
  • Sales invoicing when required by the venue.
  • Relevant journals to ensure that the income and expenditure is recognised in the appropriate week.
  • Payroll & pension administration where required
  • Preparing and paying royalty statements
  • VAT returns
  • Year-end accounts preparation for submission to external accountants
  • Investor returns & profit distributions
  • FEU applications
  • Other ad hoc requirements


Qualifications, Experience and Strengths

  • Qualified accountant
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with an accounting system ideally Sage 50 accounts, Sage 50 payroll, Xero,
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Dynamic, enthusiastic, and willing to go the extra distance to make a difference
