Role purpose
As we gear up to opening our doors, we’re looking for a Sustainability & Transport Manager with a passion for creating a planet friendly space, driving positive change and putting sustainability at the heart of everything we do.

Led by you with the support of a truly engaged Co-op Live team, you will inspire colleagues, artists, fans and the local community to make positive choices with a big focus on sustainable travel, making us best in class so we remain the most sustainable music and entertainment venue in the UK.

 

Role Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with our awesome operational teams on our sustainability strategy which will focus on measuring and managing a reduction in energy and waste in addition to driving our re-use, recycle and reduce strategy
  • Offer guidance, advise and training, galvanising our whole team to put sustainability first in all we do that keeping us on track, measuring and communicating our progress against our ambition
  • Inspire and educate our fans, local community and educational partners on the buildings state of the art sustainable features including ‘powered by nature’ with our solar, smart tech, air source heat pumps, rainwater harvesting and biodiversity ring
  • Be the expert on industry and sustainable initiatives and trends to ensure that we are always leading, innovating, and positively disrupting to deliver our sustainability ambitions
  • Influence our procurement chain to ensure we drive best practice and exceed our Venue Management Policy commitments
  • Work closely with our food and beverage partners to offer guidance on packaging and sustainable sourcing options to push sustainability throughout our supply chain
  • Champion our zero waste to landfill initiatives
  • Be the lead for all sustainable transport solutions working closely with local partners including TfGM to provide sustainable travel options to make getting to the venue safe & accessible
  • Be creative and positively influence visitor travel choices, priorities sustainable modes of transport including incentivising walking and cycling solutions that support active and carbon free travel to enable our ambition to become a reality
  • Play a key role, working with our programming team to influence and guide artists and production teams to reduce their emissions and sustainable improvements on planet friendly matters
  • Measure key KPI’s for sustainability and visitor travel and regularly report and update on progress
  • Be responsible for delivering the Framework Travel Plan as submitted in our planning obligation to implement measures to reduce dependency on the car by those visiting and working at Co-op Live, surveying travel patterns of fans and staff regularly, implement Travel Plan services and monitor and review the effectiveness of the plan in reducing car dependency.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

Essential

  • Degree or significant experience in sustainability and transport planning
  • Experience in driving sustainability and sustainable travel agendas
  • Knowledge and experience in sustainable event operations
  • Know your audience, analyse feedback and continuously look for ways to improve the fan experience
  • Understand best practices for sustainable travel and behaviour change strategies
  • Positive relationship building and managing client relationships as well as influencing public and private stakeholders
  • A great team player who enjoys positive energy, being resourceful and motivated to work in a high achieving environment
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at any one time
  • Thrive when its buzzing and show resilience, taking control, making decisions, and leading from the front to influence and inspire others
  • An infectious can-do approach
  • knowledge of computer applications Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrate a high level of organisational and project management skills

Desirable 

  • Experience of the live music & entertainment industry

 

Salary:
Up to £60,000 plus benefits
