Mercat de Música Viva de Vic (MMVV) is a professional meeting place for all of the sectors of the music industry. A showcase for musical ideas that grow out of the exchange of information between programmers and bands, cultural managers and musicians, the music business and its public.
For four days every September since 1989, the city of Vic has brought together representatives of all areas of music from around the world to see new developments, attend forums, exchange their knowledge and buy and sell music.
The programming comprises all kind of styles and is designed for a wide audience. Stages distributed all around the city, both free and paid access, and four days of live music transform the city of Vic in the centre of the country’s musical and cultural activity.
Within the MMVV also takes place MVLAB, a meeting point for artistic directors, festivals, institutions, private companies, promoters, agencies, labels and all sorts of professionals of the music industry. The main objectives are to facilitate business development, to exchange experiences and know how, to generate business and to contribute to the innovation and professional development of the sector.
The MVLAB materializes in a commercial fair designed for the professionals, which includes showcases, networking events and conferences and presentations to facilitate knowledge exchange and professional development. The MMVV puts together a specific music program for the professional delegates, with exclusive showcases on top of the general program.
2015 was the 27th edition of the MMVV, with more information about the 2016 event coming soon.
