Purpose of the role

The Prep & Dock Manager position is one of the most important roles at ER Productions! What’s important is not only ensuring that the equipment delivers, the crew have to deliver too. People are the most important part of what we do. As the Prep & Dock Manager your job is to ensure that shows are properly resourced with the right equipment and are prepared to exceed our clients high standards. This role also oversees the Interns and Trainee Show Technicians, ensuring that they have the time and resources to complete their training program and become the next generation of Show Techs!

This role would suit an events Hire Manager that has experience in leading a team and working within a fast paced technical environment.

 

You will be working across multiple time zones supporting the teams working on high profile festivals,
shows and tours, therefore it is important that you have the following Skills and Experience:

  • Good understanding of live event technology, including understanding DMX, ARTNET and data & power distribution systems
  • Computer literate, with a good understanding of computer networks and IP addresses, able to navigate server and online booking systems
  • Able to demonstrate solid leadership skills and people management experience and are comfortable in mentoring / developing the ER Interns & Trainee Show Technicians of the future.
  • At least 5 years experience in the live events industry in a technical capacity
  • 2 years of which working with lasers and / or special effects, as a touring tech understanding how to bring a live show together
  • At least 5 years experience working in a busy warehouse environment
