Cashless payment specialist Intellitix Technologies has acquired a majority stake in CrowdBlink, a mobile-first event management platform.
Intellitix, which provides the RFID access control and cashless payment solutions at events including Tomorrowland and BlizzCon, has processed over $1 billion in cashless payments since launching in 2010.
The company hopes the deal will facilitate the implementation of more lightweight event technology, through the use of CrowdBlink’s all-in-one mobile platform, that offers ticketing, access control and cashless event payments.
“We will now be benefiting from a proven team and a global infrastructure that powers thousands of events”
“I was very impressed with CrowdBlink,” says Intellitix CEO Carlo Chiarello. “They have an innovative product already, but once I saw what they had in their product roadmap I knew they were going to truly disrupt the industry.”
CrowdBlink president Jeff Jessamine adds: “We will now be benefiting from a proven team and a global infrastructure that powers thousands of events, which means CrowdBlink can now scale very rapidly.
“CrowdBlink will be taking full advantage of these resources and expertise as we develop the platform and pave the way for the next generation of event technology.”
