The veteran promoter will advise on Civilized's events business, which produces parties and other events for marijuana industry professionals and consumers

Concert promoter Michael Cohl, the founder of S2BN Entertainment and former chairman of Live Nation, has joined ‘cannabis culture’ brand Civilized Worldwide as a board member and investor.
Based in California and New Brunswick, Canada, Civilized comprises civilized.life, a news and entertainment website; Civilized Studios, a multi-platform video network; and Civilized Events, which produces branded events for both the cannabis industry and consumers.
Cohl’s experience will help Civilized “advance” its events business, according to the company, which defines itself as a “premium media and lifestyle brand that embraces and highlights modern cannabis culture, reflecting the millions of adults who choose to enjoy cannabis as part of a balanced lifestyle but don’t define themselves by it”.
“Michael brings unparallelled knowledge, relationships and passion to the Civilized brand”
“I was looking for a media platform in the cannabis space where I could bring my expertise and I found it with Civilized,” says Cohl (pictured). “I’m excited about what we’ll achieve together, and the kind of events we’ll be offering audiences around the world.”
Cohl’s career spans five decades as a producer and promoter for concerts, musicals and films. He has promoted tours for Frank Sinatra, Michael Jackson, the Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, U2, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Barbra Streisand, while his Broadway credits include Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, Lion King, Spamalot, Rock of Ages, Hairspray, The Producers and Bombay Dreams. He has also worked on several documentaries, including Pete Seeger: Power of Song and LENNONYC.
“Michael brings unparallelled knowledge, relationships and passion to the Civilized brand,” adds Derek Riedle, CEO and Publisher of Civilized. “He joins Mitch Fox, the former group president of Condé Nast and publisher of Vanity Fair and Details magazines, who’s also a board member. With these two professional icons and our team, we’ll continue along our path of accelerated growth.”
