German events, property and media conglomerate Evago AG has acquired 100% of Mojo, a leading supplier of crowd control barriers for live events
By Jon Chapple on 18 Jan 2017
Evago AG, the parent company of German event infrastructure supplier Bümo, has acquired Mojo Barriers for an undisclosed sum.
Mojo Barriers, established in 1988 by Dutch promoter Mojo Concerts (now part of the Live Nation group), is one of the world’s leading suppliers of aluminium stage barriers, with offices in the Netherlands, Britain, the US and Australia. In 2016 its barriers were in use on the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ The Getaway world tour, Bruce Springsteen’s The River tour and Muse’s Drones world tour, among others.
The acquisition gives Evago, headquartered in Pyrbaum, Bavaria, 100% of Mojo Barriers’ shares. Other Evago subsidiaries include PR and marketing firm Evago Media & Marketing and property development operation Evago Real Estate.
Evago CEO Goran Marincic says: “Thanks to this strategic acquisition, we will continue to strengthen our position in the international market over the long term and advance our growing event infrastructure capabilities with the global stock and team of Mojo Barriers.
“I am convinced that all sides will greatly benefit from this acquisition”
“Renowned for quality, flexibility, knowledge, experience and reliability worldwide, we are delighted to welcome a strong brand that matches our group perfectly, which will accelerate the growth of both companies.”
“The Evago Group provides Mojo Barriers with a strong strategic partner and a new structure to develop the company,” adds outgoing co-owner and MD Cees Muurling. “I am convinced that all sides will greatly benefit from this acquisition.”
The first joint venture between Mojo Barriers and its new owner already looks to be taking shape: the Evago site lists the “Mojo eGate® – the new way of access” among Evago Media & Marketing’s suite of RFID and digital crowd control solutions, and the website mojoegate.com has been registered.
