Ticketmaster has registered a new company, Ticketmaster Switzerland GmbH, in Zurich, prompting speculation it is plotting a move into the Swiss market.

Documents seen by the Handelszeitung suggest that the Live Nation-owned company, one of the world’s largest ticket sellers, established an office in Switzerland in mid-June. A new Swiss operation would bring the number of countries in which Ticketmaster has a presence to 22.

A spokeswoman for Ticketmaster tells IQ the company has “no comment” on the report.

Ticketcorner, a subsidiary of CTS Eventim, and Starticket are currently the two biggest primary ticketers in Switerzerland. Interestingly, the Handelszeitung reports that Starticket owns the ticketmaster.ch domain, meaning Ticketmaster will have to make a deal with its future local rival if it wants to secure a web address in its usual format.
