Pieter van Adrichem has been named marketing manager for Dutch music industry conference/festival Eurosonic Noorderslag (ESNS).

His predecessor, Marije Jansen, left ESNS after six years in February to take up a role as head of communications and marketing for Leeuwarden as 2018 European City of Culture.

Van Adrichem is also marketing manager at PR agency Cultuurplan, and was previously involved with ESNS through his work as communications manager at Buma Cultuur.

The new role is “very cool,” writes Van Adrichem (pictured) on LinkedIn, “even when it means I have to say goodbye to the Cross-linx Festival and the Vrijheidscolleges, because I won’t be able to combine all of that”. He continues: “I’ll still be working for other clients through Cultuurplan, working on branding, marketing campaigns and policy, possibly mostly between spring and autumn. Supposedly the quiet period of the year as far as Eurosonic Noorderslag is concerned…

“I’ve stayed loyal to Eurosonic Noorderslag for the last eight years, always visiting the festival and conference in January. Looking forward to working for the event, absolutely the best in the Netherlands (and very possibly far beyond)…”

Eurosonic Noorderslag 2017 is scheduled for 11 to 14 January, and has Portugal as its focus country.
