Oxfam is recruiting ‘takeover managers’ for Oxjam in October.

The UK-based charity wants “inspiring individuals” who will lead teams of volunteers for the 11th edition of its annual music festival, which takes place across the UK every autumn.

Oxjam’s centrepiece is the Oxjam Takeover Weekend, which on 15 October will see 50 British towns and cities host their own multi-venue charity music events.

Oxjam takeover managers will be tasked with with recruiting a team of volunteers and inspiring them to organise a Takeover in their hometown

Oxjam takeover managers will be tasked with with recruiting a team of volunteers and inspiring them to organise fundraising events for a Takeover in their hometown. It will be a part-time volunteer role taking up around one day a week.

“What you’re doing [as a takeover manager], and how you’re learning your skills, is exactly the same as how I did when I started out,” comments Festival Republic MD Melvin Benn. “I look forward to the point when some of you are in the position that I am now, and I’m sure that will happen.”

The deadline for applications is Monday 29 February. To apply or find out more, click here.

Since 2007 there have been 6,000 Oxjam events, raising over £1 million for Oxfam’s work fighting poverty worldwide.
