Live Nation is to take over operations at the 12,000-capacity Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in the Atlanta suburb of Alpharetta.
The arrangement will allow venue owner Woodruff Arts Center to “benefit from a more predictable stream of revenues to support the core mission of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra”, says Woofdruff president and CEO Virginia Hepner.
The ASO’s home venue is the Woodruff-owned Atlanta Symphony Hall.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution‘s Bo Emerson reports that Woodruff Arts Center will receive fixed payments from Live Nation over an initial 20-year-term but will continue to own the amphitheatre and surrounding 45 acres.
Upcoming shows at Encore Park include Bryan Adams, Van Morrison, Styx and Ellie Goulding.
