The former O2 World in Berlin expects to hit the milestone in the last week of January
By IQ on 06 Jan 2016
The Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin will this month welcome its ten-millionth visitor.
The 17,000-capacity indoor arena, which opened in September 2008 as O2 World, is home to the Eisbären Berlin ice-hockey team and Alba Berlin basketball team and also used for concerts and other sports events.
The milestone is expected to be reached when Eisbären play ERC Ingolstad in the last week of January.
Over 1.35 million people attended the 137 events hosted by the AEG-operated venue in 2015. Adele, Muse, Justin Bieber, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and film composer Hans Zimmer are booked to play later this year.
