New EFA training targets production managers

Part one of the Festival Production Management Training programme, part of the EFA's Festival Academy, will kick off in Antwerp on Wednesday

The European Festivals Association (EFA) will this week host the first in a series of training seminars targeting festival production managers.

Part one of the three-module Festival Production Management Training programme, part of the EFA’s Festival Academy initiative, will take place in Antwerp from Wednesday 20 to Saturday 23 January at the deSingel International Arts Campus.

The first event will see 22 participants from 15 countries will meet and hear from experienced production managers, including Elisabeth Knauf, production manager at Hebbel am Ufer Berlin, Annet Lekkerkerker, managing director of Holland Festival, and Roy Luxford, planning and operations director for Edinburgh International Festival, who will share their experiences on production management in sessions guided by Hugo De Greef, general coordinator of the Festival Academy, and Nele Hertling of A Soul for Europe. There will also be a risk-management workshop by Pearle*.

Participants will become part of the Festival Academy’s alumni network, which comprises a growing list of 335 festival leaders.
